Hollywood-ize is not a word. That being said, it's interesting that the 1976 movie Sybil, with the brilliant performances by Sally Field and Joanne Woodward, was mentioned. There are debates about whether or not Sybil truly had dissociative personality disorder. Some accounts say her 16 identities were suggested to her by Dr. Wilbur, her psychiatrist. However, Sybil's trauma was caused by severe sexual abuse at the hands of her mother, who was diagnosed as being schizophrenic.
A good "hollywood" type introduction, with nice examples to make the material real.
